    The width and height of the panel do not affect the center frequency. However, very small panels are not able to move and flex enough to absorb well. And if a panel is very large that might also be a problem. However, I've never tested that so I can't say how large is "too" large. Generally, the panel should vibrate in one plane only, as shown in the 1,1 Mode here:

    If the panel is very large it could flop around and vibrate like the other modes which would reduce the trap's efficiency.
