    Hello Ethan,

    What is (what should be) the maximum density of a mineral wool used for absorbers ? Is there sth. like optimal density or basically more dense is better for absortion? I've found in local shop really heavy wool - 140kg/m3 which is much more than PT-80 used by many of us. It also has two "desity-zones"- total thickness is 10cm of which 2cm is more dense than other 8cm. Would it be good material or not (and why?).

    Pretty much any standard "rigid" absorbing material will work well, regardless of its density. Even when there is a difference, it's usually pretty small. I tested this once, for three densities of rigid fiberglass:

    I never tested other absorber materials.
